WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO GET OUT THERE?: My first real encounter with running was my freshman year of high school at field hockey tryouts. I could barely finish running a mile, but instead of feeling defeated, I felt determined to work at it until I could run a 10-minute mile. What I didn’t realize then, was that there is no finite goal when you start running; once I achieved a 10-minute mile, I kept coming up with new goals to run farther and faster. Even now, almost 8 years later, I am still setting new goals. My next goal is to run a half marathon! Running has become such a huge part of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

FAVORITE PLACE TO RUN: I go to school in Washington, DC, and I love to run around the National Mall!

FAVORITE POST RUN MEAL: Frozen banana slices with peanut butter and cinnamon!
